Most people have a small bathroom cabinet or even a bathroom furniture unit. But I do not need such things. When I moved in my new flat, the bathroom looked really horrible so I had to design it from scratch. I bought some dark green and light gray tiles, a small bath and a washbasin. There was still some space for a washing machine but not for a single bathroom cabinet or any other bathroom furniture item. I finally decided not to buy any. I got three wide wooden boards instead and I painted them white. Then I attached them to the wall above the washing machine. In this way, I created three shelves with lots of space for towels, cosmetics, accessories such as toothbrush holders or soap dishes. I also put my washing powder and hairdryer on the lowest level. I knew where everything was because I could see it all the time. When my flatmate moved in a couple of months ago, we thought that these three shelves would not be enough for both of us. But we needn"t have worried. We put all towels on the highest shelf and then I put all my things on the middle shelf. Of course, I had to squeeze them but there was enough space for everything. My flatmate was left with the lower shelf. In this way, we did not have to buy any new bathroom furniture.
